The Opportunity
We're seeking an entry-level Manufacturing Process Engineer & Project Manager to join our team as a contractor. This unique role combines manufacturing process expertise with software project management, offering an exceptional learning opportunity for someone interested in bridging the gap between manufacturing and technology.
Position Details
- Location: Remote
- Hours: Flexible, hourly basis
- Duration: Initial 1-month contract with possibility of extending to 6 months
- Start Date: As soon as possible
- Work Authorization: For direct contracts you need to be US based, but we are willing to work through 3rd party contract houses if needed for non-US contractors
Core Responsibilities
- Shadow senior team members during client calls and implementation discussions
- Learn and document manufacturing processes and requirements
- Assist in translating manufacturing needs into software features
- Create training materials on manufacturing concepts for sales and marketing teams
- Apply LEAN and process improvement principles to project workflows
- Help coordinate communication between development teams and manufacturing clients
- Document best practices and standard operating procedures
- Participate in project planning and timeline development
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing expertise in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, or related technical field
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to learn independently and take initiative
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with LEAN manufacturing principles
- Knowledge of Six Sigma concepts
- Familiarity with production systems like JIT and MRP
- Understanding of quality monitoring systems
- Experience with Agile methodologies
- Background in food or packaging manufacturing (beneficial but not required)
- Visual Management Tools (Andon systems)
- Process mapping and documentation
- Data visualization techniques
- Quality monitoring systems
- Standard Work documentation

Selection Process
